PaperArtsy blog challenge #14 Flowers
This is my entry for PaperArtsy blog challenge #14. The theme is Flowers. My canvas was inspired by Anneke De Clerk's Canvas. I liked how Anneke had created all the different background layers using a variety of mediums and then finished her piece with the large flowers.
To create my canvas I followed step from the original blog post. I added pieces of tissue, lined paper and old dictionary to a 15x15cm canvas with Multi Medium Matt. Once dry I added a layer of Gesso.
Once the Gesso was dry I added Yellow Submarine, Sherbet and Beach Hut Fresco Finish Paint with an old credit card as shown below.
When the paint was dry I sprayed Bubblegum Pink, Lemon Zest and Calypso Teal Dylusions ink spray onto the canvas. I also sprayed water and let the ink run.
Onto the canvas I then used stamped Ellen Vargo 06 stamp from PaperArtsy in Cobolt Archival ink pad.
I then added Grunge Paste through a PaperArtsy 004 stencil. I didn't colour the Grunge Paste once it was dry as I found It had already picked up some of the colour from the canvas.
I then painted and stamped flowerheads and stems from Lin Brown 01 stamp set with Yellow Submarine, Sherbet, Very Berry and Tinned Peas Fresco Finish Paint. I stamped the painted stamps onto PaperArtsy smooth card.
I then cut out all the flowers and stemps before attaching them to the canvas. I only attached the centre of the flowerheads and stems to the canvas as shown below.
