Little Claire June stamp club set

These two cards were made using the Little Claire June Stamp Club set, 'Bed of Roses'.

I have used two different colour schemes for my cards, a bright red for my first card and pastel shades for my second.

The bed image for both cards was stamped with a black Memento ink pad. I coloured in the images with ProMarkers. The greeting on both cards are also in the stamp set.

For the red card I used the heart stamp from the set to stamp the background pattern. The stamped image was attached with foam pads. To finish I added ribbon and a big bow.

For the pastel card I created a patchwork effect using different patterned panels. The stitching and faux button was stamped using Georgina's Buttons & Stitching Stamp Set also from Little Claire.

For more details and the Stamp Club and this stamp set please see the Little Claire website.

For the background I cut a square of gingham paper.  I attached this to a square card blank. In the corners I added punched photo frame corners. Across the card I added a strip of blue card with I had punched the edge with a scalloped punch. I used X-Cut star dies to cut the star shapes.

To finish the card I added faux stitching and a greeting tag with a bow.

A crafty weekend

Sorry there's been a few less blog posts than normal this week. But I have had a busy week preparing a couple of hundred cards for this weekend's Little Claire workshops. We were in Crawley today and tomorrow in Harriestsham, Kent.

Today went very well. The ladies seemed to enjoyed making the cards I'd designed. A few stamps to clean and my craft bags to tidy so I'm ready for it all again tomorrow.

Butterfly canvas

This is a canvas I made as part of my successful application to be part of the Craftwork Cards Design Team.

I started by creating the grey paper frame. I used strips of paper from the Craftwork Cards Sweet Pea range. I added faux stitching around the edge. I laid this on the canvas and lightly drew around the edges. I removed the frame before stamping the grasses. The stamp set I used for this was Graceful grasses and birdcages. I added Stickles to the grass heads. All the ink pad I used are from Stampin' Up.

I attached the frame to the canvas. I stamped flowers using the Butterflies and blooms stamp set onto white card. I cut these out and added the to the frame.
Using the Butterflies and blooms stamp set again I stamped a selection of butterflies either directly onto the canvas or onto white card which I then cut out and added to the frame. I added brown Cosmic Shimmer PVA to the centres of the butterflies.

I stamped buttons using the button stamp from the Butterflies and blooms stamp set in brown ink. I added a layer of Glossy Accents. Once they were dry I cut them out and threaded linen thread through the holes. I also added a yellow Card Candi.

Paper Rosettes

This is a birthday card I have made using the embellishments I made using silicone moulds and various embossing powders I bought from Sugar and Spice Crafts at Ally Pally. For more details about making the embellishments can be found at this blog post.

I made the rosettes from strips of patterned paper from a Basic Grey paper pad. For the decorative edges I used Stampin' Up punches. To score the folds I used a Hougie Board.

For the background I cut a square of green card. Using Nestabilities Label dies I cut out scalloped panels. Before adding the green panels to a square card Blank I added a strip of brown ribbon across the bottom right corner. I used Sugar and Spice stamps for the greeting and flower design both on the green card and under the greeting. To finish I added swirls of brown card cut with a Memory Box die, the rosettes, a bow, gems and Stickles.

I cut squares of pink card and patterned paper for the background. I also cut a number 1 from the pink card using a Craftwork Card template. I also added the long greeting with ribbon.

Before adding the square to the card I attached a strip of ribbon across the top right corner. Onto this I attached a charm and ribbon bow. To finish the card I added my favourite faux stitching, white flowers and gems.

And finally this is the cake I made. It's a two tier sponge cake. I was very pleased with the finished cake. It was hard work though. It tasted yummy!
