Craft Stamper March 2015 Blog challenge - DT card

The March challenge starts today on the Craft Stamper blog. The theme of the challenge is 'Anything Goes (as long as you use a stamp somewhere on your project) '. This is my DT card for the challenge, below. With Mother's Day on Sunday 15th March I thought it would make an ideal theme for my card. I have used the lovely Hot Picks 1301 stamp set from PaperArtsy for my card.

To make this card I started with a 148x148mm white card blank from Craftwork Cards. I lightly distress the edges of the card with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress ink pads. I then used the text stamps from the Hot Picks 1301 stamp set to stamp around the edges, as shown below. I only stamped around the edge as I knew the centre would be covered up with the main butterfly image. I stamped the text using Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress ink pads.

I cut a strip of dark brown card for the side of the card. I stamped the butterfly image using a VersaMark ink pad and then heat embossed the stamped images with WOW Metallic Copper embossing powder.

I stamped the butterfly and flowers from the stamp set using Potted Soil Archival Ink pad. I lightly distress the edges of the main butterfly image with Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress ink pads. I coloured the stamped images, as shown below, with Copics. I used Y08, R81 and R85.

I created the sentiment on my laptop and printed it out onto white paper. I added a little colour around the edges with Distress inks before attaching it to a panel of dark brown card. I attached the cut-out butterfly to the main butterfly image with a little glue in the centre. I then stitched on a colour co-ordinated bead.

I attached the sentiment with foam pads. I also cut out the flowers and attached them with either glue or foam pads. To finish I added faux stitching, Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly's wings and Glossy Accents to the centre of the flowers.
