Autumn Leaves

This is a card I have made using the lovely Leaves stamp set from The Artistic Stamper.

I started by creating the background. I cut a square of smooth white card and used a Blending Tool to add the different coloured Distress Inks. I used Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I then added small drop of water onto the background. Once dry I stamped the words and small leaves with a black Archival ink pad.

I scrunched up and then flattened out a piece of smooth white card before adding Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress ink. Once dry I stamped a selection of the large leaves from the Leaves stamp set again with black Archival ink pad.

I mounted the background onto a square of black card before adding to the card blank. I cut out the large leaves and added some flat and other with foam pad to the card blank.

I am also entering my card into this month's The Artistic Stamper Creative Team blog challenge. The theme is Autumn.

Birthday candles

I have a birthday card to share with you today. I made the card for The Artistic Stamper shop first birthday last month.

I started by stamping the strip pattern onto white card using various coloured ink pads. The stamp I used was from The Artistic Stamper's Chevron Elements stamp set. I decorate the front and the back of the card so I cut out enough candles to cover both.

For the flame number I stamped the '1' stamp from The Artistic Stamper's Numerical Plate stamp set. I cut out a flame shaped template which I then drew around over the stamped numbers before cutting them out.

I stamped the sentiment onto the card with a black ink pad. The sentiment stamp is from the new Greetings stamp set.  I attached the front candles and frame with foam pads. The back candles I added with just glue. I drew in with wicks with a black fineliner. To finish I added some Stickles to the candles.

Wedding roses

Today I have a wedding card to share with you I recently made for my friend's wedding. The design was based on the make-n-take card I made for The Artistic Stamper shop's 1st birthday celebrations in August.

The card blank I used is a 148x148mm Elegance card from Craftwork Cards. I added a post-it note across the front of the card as a mask so I have a blank area for the sentiment. I stamped the Calligraphic Mat 11 background stamp all over the card with a London Fog Memento ink pad. I peeled off the post-it note and stamped the sentiment in Stormy Sky Distress ink.

I then stamped the beautiful roses also in Stormy Sky Distress ink. The roses stamps are from The Artistic Stampers Botanical 3 stamp set. Next I stamped the little butterflies. These are from the Encyclopaedia Botanica stamp set again from The Artistic Stamper. I stamped three additional butterflies onto smooth white card. I cut these out and added them to the front of the card. I only added glue to the bodies so I could bend the wings up. To finish I added Dimension Pearls to the butterflies bodies, and Stickles to the butterflies and roses.

Autumn Leaves

This is a card I have made for the The Artistic Stamper September Blog Challenge. The theme is Autumn. The lovely leaf stamp set I used for this card is the new Leaves stamp set from The Artistic Stamper.

To make this card I started my adding texture and colour to a shaped card blank. The spotty texture was created using Grunge Paste and Microbial stencil. Once this was dry I added a layer of Tinned Peas Fresco Finish paint. For the centre section of the card front I only added light watered down layer of paint. Once this was dry I lightly sanded the Grunge Paste. I also added Pearl Moon, Golden Light and Patina Gilding Wax.

I stamped the wording on the front of the card using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The wording is also part of the Leaves stamp set. I then stamped a mixture of Leaves using a variety of Distress Inks onto cream card. I cut out each leaf. I drew a circle lightly in pencil onto the card by drawing around a circle die. I attached the smaller leaves to the card.

I attached the two larger leaves with foam pads. To finish I added small dots of Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles to the Grunge Paste dots.

JOFY flowers

Something a little different for me today. This is a decorate chipboard panel I made for my aunt's birthday. I added a stand on the back as used it as a birthday card.

The stamps I used for this were PaperArtsy JOFY plate 12 which I bought from The Artistic Stamper. I have been wanting ('needing') these stamps for months and the time had finally come to buy them.

To make this panel I started by adding Grunge Paste to a chipboard panel through a stencil. The stencil I used were called Microbial and Cornflowers. I also added Grunge Paste straight to the chipboard and stamped a wet stamp from the JOFY set into the paste to added texture.

Once the Grunge Paste was dry I painted the panel with light cream, cream and green acrylic paints. When the paint was dry I stamped the beautiful JOFY flower stamp onto the panel with a Memento ink pad. This ink took a long time to dry so I think I should use a different ink pad in future.

I stamped the flowers again but onto smooth white card. I coloured the flower head with ProMarkers. I cut out the flowers heads and added them to the panel. Some of the heads I added two layers of card for a little extra dimension.

To finish the panel I added Stickles to the flowers and Golden Light Gilding Wax around the edges.

I was very please with the final piece and now looking forward to making some more. I am going on a JOFY workshop at The Artistic Stamper shop tomorrow so looking forward to learning new techniques.

Feed the Birds

The start of a new month means a new monthly Stamp Club set from Little Claire. This month's set is Feed the Birds. The set contains three image stamps and two sentiments.

These are two cards I made with the new stamp set. My first card I used a vintage colour scheme and design. I stamped the image with a brown Memento ink pad. I distress the edges of the card and image panel with Distress inks

For my second card I stamped the wording and border with a Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad. I coloured the stamped border with ProMarkers. I mounted the coloured panel onto squares of gold and dark green card.

For details about the stamp set and the Monthly Stamp Club please see the Little Claire website.
